Indian enterprise lawyer strengthens White & Case

Guptan has more than 20 years of experience advising on complex cross-border transactions related to India and specializes in securities and corporate law with a focus on capital market transactions. As a dual lawyer in England, Wales and India, he regularly advises Indian and international companies, in particular investment banks and private equity firms, on transactions across all industries.
White & Case’s head of global capital markets practice, partner John Vetterli in New York, said the company expects a continued increase in Indian companies raising capital through cross-border offers over the next several years.
“Together with our leading equity and debt capital markets practices in the US and UK, the addition of an experienced India-focused capital markets partner in the Asia-Pacific region will make us the company of choice to advise on these transactions,” said Vetterli.
Nandan Nelivigi, partner and country group leader for India at White & Case in New York, said Guptan’s experience would help the company expand its services to Indian issuers.
“Rahul’s strong, long-standing relationships with key stakeholders in India, Singapore and Hong Kong and his deep understanding of the Indian market make him an excellent addition to our existing capabilities,” said Nelivigi.
