Late filing of a power of attorney when filing trademark applications in the United Arab Emirates

Recently, the Department of Commerce issued a Notice of Power of Attorney Filing (“PoA”) at the time of filing a new trademark application in the United Arab Emirates.
According to the notice, it is mandatory to file trademark applications with a copy of the unlegalized PoA along with the certified Arabic translation. The named PoA must be submitted within 30 days from the date of application. If the applicants do not meet the stated requirement, the application is deemed to have been submitted.
