New York’s New Authorized Authority: What Goes Round, Comes Round, or Does It?

On December 15, 2020, Governor Andrew Cuomo signed a series of amendments to the General Duty Act sections 15-1501 et seq., Effective June 13, 2021, which significantly changed the requirements for the state’s legal powers of New York. The first of the sometimes humorously referred to as the “New York Statutory” Short Form “was created in 1948 to avoid the client having to explain the powers granted to him in detail and instead allowed a short abbreviation of the powers granted and based on the full one Description of the powers that could be found in the statute.
