TikTok, Biden Administration Agrees To Finish Litigation Over Trump-Period App Retailer Ban

In a filing with the US District Court for the District of Columbia, the two sides said they had mutually agreed that the lawsuit should be dismissed. The move follows President Joe Biden’s decision to repeal then-President Donald Trump’s 2020 executive order against TikTok. Biden replaced that order with a more comprehensive one that deals with apps related to foreign adversaries like China.

As a result of Biden’s repeal of Trump’s order, Trump’s proposed app store ban became obsolete. TikTok is still negotiating a plan with the U.S. Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States to address security concerns about U.S. users’ data.
